Job Title:   Seniors Housing and Healthcare Originator
Department: Seniors Housing and Healthcare Group
Reports to: Executive Managing Director, Berkeley Point Capital
Location: Throughout the United States


The primary responsibility of the Seniors Housing and Healthcare Originator is to prospect and originate seniors housing and healthcare loans for clients while providing exceptional customer relationship management.  Loan originations will include Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Life Company and other capital solution products, including products within our Cantor Fitzgerald affiliated companies.


  • Originates permanent debt executions and other capital solutions for seniors housing and healthcare transactions utilizing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Life Company and/or other seniors housing and healthcare product solutions as appropriate
  • Ability to understand and cross sell other financial solutions offered within the Cantor Fitzgerald family of credit entities
  • Solicits new relationships with prospective owner/operators of senior housing and healthcare properties and manages existing relationships as needed on behalf of the client to enhance transaction volume
  • Evaluates credit and appropriately structures seniors housing and healthcare financing solutions; presents solutions to clients and manages solutions throughout loan closing process
  • Manages all aspects of loan origination process, including presentations to senior management and clients, debt structuring, pricing strategy, transaction negotiation and closing.
  • Acts as the client’s central point of contact throughout the loan execution cycle
  • Reviews preliminary loan information, has good understanding of credit and product parameters and determines initial loan sizing, pricing and terms
  • Coordinates as needed with the transaction management team relative to the structure, terms and pricing of each proposed transaction prior to client presentation and throughout the loan execution cycle
  • Coordinates processing, underwriting and closing as needed to ensure smooth and timely issuance of loan commitment and closing
  • Promptly addresses any and all client inquiries or concerns
  • Participates in regularly scheduled pipeline meetings to discuss specific transactions, business development activities, call plans and issues that need prompt resolution
  • Participates as needed in various industry functions including conferences, business development meetings, marketing and educational events


  • Experience in originating seniors housing and healthcare permanent loans while also understand credit
  • Highly developed analytical, research and written/oral presentation skills
  • Ability to problem solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of professionalism, initiative, accuracy, and adhering to the highest ethical standards
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service; work independently; organize and prioritize projects; solve complex problems; and complete multiple tasks on schedule
  • Ability to work productively and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Proactive team player that is able to multi-task and work effectively under time sensitive situations


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or other related fields; master’s degree preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in seniors housing and healthcare originations
  • Able to travel a minimum of 10-20%
