POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Closing Assistant with 1-3 years of experience in office support.  The Closing Assistant’s primary responsibility will be to provide day-to-day support to Closing Officers with various functions.  This is an entry level position and is an excellent opportunity to learn about the business for potential career growth.  The Irvine office is highly productive and affords the opportunity to work closely with Originators and Underwriters on the structuring and underwriting of transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Closing Officers – daily. Faxing/scanning/sending emails/preparing faxes/fed ex’s/preparing courier packages
  • On and off site document and file retention and management
  • Recorded Documents Tracking and Reporting (monthly)
  • Relieve receptionist at scheduled times
  • Monitor Scheduling Calendar, i.e., delivery packages expected, date deliveries to be sent to Investor, settlement dates
  • Prepare and finalize all delivery packages for review by Closing Officer and Closing Manager
  • Upload all final documents to Freddie Mac’s DMS (Freddie loans only)
  • Upload all final documents to Sharepoint for further upload to Enterprise
  • Prepare and circulate for internal approval all DVP/Schedule I/Prospectus delivery
  • Coordinate w/ MBS Investor the delivery of the DVP and Prospectus delivery
  • Respond to requests from Originations, Underwriting, Asset Management and Servicing
  • Assist department, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.A. degree from a 4 year college preferred
  • Successful completion of Real Estate Finance and Escrow I course or equivalent
  • Familiarity with escrow/real estate terminology and basic real estate documents
  • Experience in Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac multifamily closing considered a plus
  • Paralegal certification considered a plus but not a requirement
  • Able to travel a minimum of 0-20%
